Grootfontein is in the centre of the map and Windhoek is in the extreme south
Grootfontein, which means “great spring”, is named after the nearby hot springs is a town in central Namibia and is one of the three towns in the Otavi Triangle, situated on the B8 national road that leads from Otavi to the Caprivi Strip. This is an important agricultural area and serves as a cattle grazing centre. The popular Grootfontein Agricultural Show has taken place annually since 1911.
